When my youngest sister was born with Down syndrome in 1982, it marked a pivotal moment in our family’s journey. She opened our eyes to the world of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
From that moment on, we were blessed to witness firsthand how truly remarkable they are. While the medical community may often define them by their disabilities, we have learned to celebrate their unique abilities and incredible potential they hold.
